Mauritius is an island off the south east coast of Africa, in the Indian Ocean. This doll does not photograph well as she is dark. She is made of wood and painted brown. Makers marks: Label on base - "Souvenir of Mauritius" and a dodo bird on an outline of a map of Mauritius. (The dodo bird is now extinct).
