A Berber lady from Ouarzazat in the Atlas Mountains. Hard plastic with moveable arms and legs and painted features. She is wearing a cream serwal (trousers) underneath her orange velvet kaftan. On her forehead is a gold ornament, the hand of Fatima. 8.5" high. Morocco, North Africa C.1970. Makers marks: Tag attached to wrist: "Jamila" and "Passeport" on front, "Hand made in North Africa" on the back and information about her clothes on the inside. The inside pages are written in French, Spanish, German, English and Arabic.
