I have made this market stall myself and covered it with plain beige cotton fabric. I have trimmed it with a black bobble braid from our local Haberdashery Shop. The carpets inside the stall have all been cut out of various fabrics with the exception of the one the stall holder is showing to his "customers". I have made this one to my own design, using one-ply wool on Aida fabric. The two pots used for decoration in the front of the stall are from a Charity Shop. I have called the stall holder "Samir Rachid" after a former character in the television programme, "Coronation Street". He has a cloth over pipecleaner body with clay head, hands and feet, and painted features. I made this scene in 2001.
